Mark Clodfelter, trumpet
Mark Clodfelter is Professor of Trumpet at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He hails from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is currently one of the most active performers in the Southeast. Mark can be heard with the Giannini Brass, as Principal Trumpet of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra as well as the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra (DOJO) and the Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra. Additionally, Mr. Clodfelter is Co-Conductor of the Kentucky Jazz Arts Foundation Big Band and a Yamaha Performing Artist.

As soloist and clinician, Mark has appeared throughout the United States, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Ireland, with orchestras, organists, wind ensembles, brass ensembles, and jazz bands. He has recorded extensively in styles ranging from classical to rock, and has appeared with such headliners as The O' Jays, Gladys Knight, Mannheim Steam Roller, and the Moody Blues. He recently accompanied the University of Kentucky Jazz Ensemble on its Spring (03) Tour as a guest soloist, including an appearance at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Convention.

Prior to this Mark served as Instructor of Trumpet and Director of Jazz Band at Mars Hill College. He has held positions with the Greensboro Symphony, Western Piedmont Symphony, Salisbury Symphony and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.

Chris Ferguson, trombone
Chris Ferguson, trombone, is principal trombone with the Salisbury Symphony. A graduate of Appalachian State University and the North Carolina School of the Arts, his teachers include Dr. Harold McKinney and James Miller, co-principal trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Chris is an active freelance musician in the Piedmont area, performing with a variety of organizations including touring Broadway productions, symphony orchestras, big bands and the rodeo.

Joseph Mount, horn
Joseph Mount is an active freelance musician, and has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber music ensembles in the Southeast, including the North Carolina Symphony, Charlotte Symphony and Charleston Symphony. He is currently a member of the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphonies and the Carolina Chamber Symphony. He holds degrees from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music from the North Carolina School of the Arts. His teachers include Michael Hatfield and Frederick Bergstone.

David Nicholson, tuba
Tubist David Nicholson is currently principal tuba with the Greensboro (NC) Symphony and has performed with orchestras throughout the Southeast. As a student at the Empire Brass Symposium at Tanglewood, David performed on stage with the Empire Brass Quintet and Atlantic Brass Quintet. David studied at both the North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Miami. His teachers include David Mills, Sam Pilafian and Connie Weldon.

Kenneth Wilmot, trumpet
A native of South Carolina, Kenneth Wilmont performs with a variety of orchestras including the Asheville Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony and New World Symphony. He has appeared and toured with a variety of popular and jazz artists such as The Four Tops, Ray Charles, and the Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller orchestras. Ken earned a B.M and M.M. from the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he studied with Raymond Mase. He is currently on the faculty of Greensboro College.

Giannini Brass Percussionists
John R. Beck has performed and recorded with the National, Baltimore and Seattle Symphonies, the United States Marine Band, Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band and the New Sousa Band. He has also performed with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the Theatre Chamber Players of the Kennedy Center. He is the percussion instructor at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
Jason Brashear is a member of the Noble's Trio and has performed with jazz notables such as Joann Brakeen and Marian McPartland. As a symphonic percussionist he has performed with the symphonies of Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and the North Carolina Symphony.
